Tallulah Gorge State Park

To wrap up our year, Mat and I took a road trip to fall in love all over again.

Over the 4 day photo excursion, we engulfed ourselves in the forever flowing fountains of GA and NC.

These photos are from one of the 19 falls we managed to hike to in the wet winter weather.

I’m not gunna lie… my ass was not prepared for these stairs! πŸ”₯πŸ‘£

After fantasizing over seeing all the falls at this park for weeks and thinking we’d stop by in the morning and head to some other nearby falls in the afternoon, I found myself a bit disillusioned after arriving at the super fancy welcome center and seeing all the warning signs about how many stairs it would be and how those not in shape should stay at the upper level.

Though it was raining so hard they had to open the dam, my boyfriend and I decided to go for it and see all that we could while in the area. They were not kidding about the steps! By the time we got to the base of the falls, I could barely breath and had to sit and take a breather for a bit. I consider myself in pretty good shape but seriously considered buying a stair-master after this experience. 😝

All in all, this park is impactful and awe inspiring. If you get to go when the flood gates are open, it will remind you how powerful mother nature is.
